Analyzing the same company from Strategy Snapshot: SWOT & SCA, your individual assignment is to prepare a 1.5 to 2 pages (min 800 words) analysis, using business writing tips, that covers:
- Industry analysis using the P5F model
- Macro environment using PESTLE
- Competitive positioning map (go beyond quality/price dimensions) Reference My Take #4 from HOME, Lecturettes.
- Discussion of competitive advantage
- Discussion of how well the company’s current strategy is working. Since these are public companies you should be able to find items other than finances to build a few charts in Excel. Using Business Insight Essential data is great for segments, industry competition, benchmarking etc.
- Recommendations / suggested strategies
Your appendix should contain images for P5F (with bullet items); PESTLE (with bullets) and the competitive positioning map. These items are not included in the word count. Please build on your professional formatting skills: select a template or build your own.
You must use library research to support your results (internet searches that result in verifiable, fact-based research is acceptable (i.e. such as using the USFDA if you were analyzing the food industry)). Must include your spreadsheet in the submission for Excel points.
Grading: This assignment, submission for peer review, is graded as complete/incomplete.
