Assignment Description:
You are to do one of the two options below:
- In a country of your choice, policy makers are considering banning the outdoor advertisement of foods which are high in sugar, salt and fat. Policy makers expect significant resistance from a variety of stakeholders. You are asked to prepare a briefing for the Minister of Health on what arguments they could consider in their decision. You should note the key evidence and points on the policy the Minister will need to be familiar with, as well as setting out key likely counter arguments, and the responses to these.
- You are chief scientific advisor in a country of your choice and have been asked what changes are needed to your country’s regulations around tobacco advertising promotion and sponsorship. You should consider whether your current regulations are best placed to tackle a changing landscape of tobacco use as well as acceptability and impacts on inequalities from any proposed changes.
The assignment will test your ability to apply knowledge contained in the population health improvement specialisation. 改善人口健康代写
It will ask you to set out a clear set out arguments around how to improve the health of populations. And specifically to consider effectiveness and impacts on inequalities. The assignment is expected to draw on both theories and evidence of what has and has not worked in other situations. You are expected to critically evaluate any source materials and to demonstrate good knowledge of potential interventions and their strengths and weaknesses.
The best assignments will be clear and concise and combine theory and evidence to make a clear and reasoned argument. Where appropriate, you are encouraged to draw on material from Term One.
The assignment should not be more than 1,500 words. We expect that assignments to be concise and selective in the information that is reported. It may include, at most, one figure or illustration, although this is not required. Students should expect to receive detailed, constructive comments on this summative work
You can access any information you would like as you prepare it. However, you must cite any sources you rely on, in line with standard academic writing guidelines. All students are reminded that plagiarism in summative assessments can lead to immediate ejection from the course.
