The topic of my professional report is the importance of communication skills and how business graduates should be better prepared at university for the workplace.

The article I found is by Robles (2012) which discusses some interesting issues related to this topic, and I would like to share with you some parts of the article.

The article has pointed out 10 soft skills which are considered as very important by the business executives, and communication is one of the top 2 important soft skills in those 10 soft skills.

Robles states that corporate management considers communication skills to be a very important attribute for job seekers.

They need employees who are straightforward, hard-working, well-communicated, and can coexist with others. Communication is recognized as an important interpersonal skill in current business environment around world, staffs need to communicate effectively. The deficiency in communication has been the justification numerous misfortunes and catastrophes that have occurred inside the monetary business, medical services, and the broader environment lately, so communication is very important in business world.    业务沟通代写

Robles expressed in 2012 “It is often assumed that communication is a fundamental skill that everyone knows and does well. Unfortunately, that assumption is usually not a reality (p. 458)”. However, teaching communication skill and other soft skills in school is very difficult. One of the biggest difficulties of soft skills teaching faced by schools and teachers is that we actually have not sorted out some way to show soft skills, nor have we sorted out some way to survey them and catch the effect of such projects on students. The results of soft skills training are regularly invisible and give delayed returns. If educators have the right resources, they can do better on training the students that companies are looking for in current business environment.

In conclusion, nowadays, soft skills such as communication is very important in business world, and the training of soft skills is necessary in schools.
